Overhead crane safety is one of the important link of workshop safety. To make the workshop a safe place to lift and transport loads, here are the key points operator should notice when deal with a workshop overhead crane.

Quality requirements to connecting joint

Because that the connecting task is taken by bolt, rivet and welding, the quality of connecting concerns the turning of your crane. The following eight steps you should pay attention to when assemble your crane parts.

1. Bolt connecting. Choose the standard solid overhead crane parts according to the need of blueprint.

2. Generally speaking, when using bolt for connecting, there are some locking measures, such as, double nut, spring washer. If two nut are unequal on thickness, the thinner one should in inner side.

3. The head of bolt and the working surface of nut should connect closely with connecting support surface, lean and loose are forbidden.

4. Bright and clean degree of articulation hole bolt should accord with the need of blueprint. And the circular degree and cylindricity should limited in pore diameter tolerance range.

5. For common blot, when connected hole is not right, tapping center rod is allowed. However, tapping center rod by force is not allowed, for it may break screw thread.

6. It is not allowed to tap center rod for articulation hole bolt. If individual hole dislocation, you would better use a new bolt to ensure connecting quality.

7. Soldered joint. Welding should confirm to the requirements of blueprint. For important welding parts, environment temperature should be higher than 10℃. Before welding, you should clean the rust, dirt and paint on welding part.

8. Rivet connecting. For all hole needed to be welded, manufacturer makes it smaller 1~2 mm than blueprint, and when you install your crane parts, you need enlarge the hole according to drawing. Welding without expending hole is not allowed.
